It's time for ACTION.

Where did you come from? For most of us, our heritage can be traced back to countries far away, communities we’ve never seen. But somehow, at some point in time, our ancestors left what was familiar and made a difficult journey.

Whether they fled conflict or disaster, alone or with loved ones, they ended up here in Canada. A land of incredible natural beauty, security and safety. For that we are grateful.

Now, look ahead. Look toward those who are currently fleeing conflict or disaster. It’s up to us to come together so that their basic needs – safety and security, food and shelter – are met.

It’s time we walk together.

Help us reach 300,000 of the world’s most vulnerable people.

Help us raise the $10 million it will take to change each and every one of their lives.

Centennial Projects

For every year of our existence, we will assist 3,000 men, women and children to help them establish their own new roots. That’s 300,000 displaced people, all of whom are in urgent need.

Syria

Syria

Canadians have done so much to help the people of Syria but there are still many who remain locked inside their homes, listening as bombs explode outside their doors. War has debilitated the country and displaced millions. It’s time for families – especially children – to make a new start. Together, we will stand alongside them to rebuild, develop job opportunities and create spaces for learning in Syria.

Ecuador

Ecuador

Imagine fleeing conflict and arriving in a country that’s unfamiliar and unknown. It can be physically and emotionally exhausting to adjust. Ecuador, a relatively safe and conflict-free country, is seeing an influx of people from less stable countries, such as Colombia and Venezuela. MCC will help newly arrived parents and children adjust to their new home by providing supplies and by helping them start small businesses.

Chad

Chad

Targeted conflict and violence have affected people of Chadian descent in Central African Republic over the past several years. These families have been forced to flee to Chad. Thousands live in returnee camps with limited resources. MCC is working to improve access to drinking water and sanitation facilities, provide hygiene and water treatment items, support household waste management, and build awareness of safe hygiene practices in three camps.

Democratic Republic of Congo

Democratic Republic of Congo

The violence and death that many Congolese have witnessed is unfathomable: millions of people have been displaced from their homes after decades of conflict. Conflict and chronic political insecurity have also significantly affected food security. MCC will focus on gifts of food, tarps, seeds, tools, medical care and school supplies… all small reminders that these families aren’t forgotten.

Canada

There’s work to be done here at home, too. Did you know that MCC was the very first non-profit to sign an agreement with the government to allow for the private sponsorship of refugees? That was 40 years and 12,500 resettlements ago. But it isn’t enough. Join us as we increase our support for sponsorship groups who are helping refugees resettle in Canada.
